10th Minitube Satellite Symposium on Pig Reproduction at the SINSUI 2022
On May 17th, Minitube performed its traditional Satellite Symposium on Pig Reproduction within the SINSUI. It was the tenth edition of the symposium and for the very first time it happened in person and online versions simultaneously.
SINSUI is a huge event on Brazilian pork industry that happens annually, and it is focus on professionals and students of different areas of interest and different countries. The event is organized by Setor de Suínos team, from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Its main feature is the high technical content of the lectures and discussions. At this edition the event has a technical and commercial fair where 30 companies were present. The whole event has about 800 participants in person and others 100 watched it online.
The 10th Minitube Satellite Symposium had its moderation made by PhD Paulo Bennemann (from Sanphar) and PhD Rogério Pinho (from Minitube). For the opening, Minitube’s CEO Christian Simmet and Minitub do Brasil’s director, Alexandre Marchetti, have shown the evolution of the company, that are in Brazil for the last 25 years, and revealed Minitube’s brand new facility and services. The presentations took a whole of swine reproduction topics as fertility markers (Ivan Bustamante from Univates); quality control protocols for IA doses (Aline Paschoal from Unoesc); reproductive challenges in Chile’s pork production (Wolfgang Peralta from Agrosuper); and the nutrition impact in sperm production (Thomas Gall, independent consultant). Just after the speeches a wide discussion was made with all participants and the public.
In addition of the symposium, Minitube was celebrating its own 25th anniversary in Brazil. To commemorate such an important date a big confraternization was organized with all Minitub do Brasil team, colleagues from other Minitube brands and guests from Germany, USA, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile. Everyone was able to visit the company's new building, where demonstrations of new equipment and discussions on relevant and current topics were held.
